JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael's gift cards. We make toys for the fosters, re-stuff dog beds that have gone flat, repair dog beds that have been 'attacked.'  We make most of the items on our Rescue Boutique page.  The raw materials have to be purchased.  The embroidery thread, the topping and interfacing that make the designs so beautiful without puckering...

Heartland Sheltie Rescue would LOVE  to have a monthly or at least quarterly newsletter telling the tales of our recent intakes and adoptions.

Could you design and/or distribute one by e-mail to subscribers?

Gift cards to grocery stores or department stores.  Target, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Jay C Foods, Marsh, GNC...  We use lots of items from these places! Laundry detergent, bleach, disinfectant wipes, disinfectant cleaners, carpet cleaner, Fish Oil capsules, Bach's Rescue Remedy from GNC.  Rice and chicken breast for upset tummies.  Sweet potatoes and canned pumpkin.  Easy cheese for hiding meds.  Pediatric electrolyte solution for puppers that are dehydrated.  Iodine solution for cleaning wounds, bandaging supplies, you name it!  And we'll even send you a copy of the receipt if you like showing the supplies that were purchased with your gift cards.  It's all for the shelties!  Promise!

Have a kids group or church group that wants to help out?

Make woobies for adoption kits so the shelties can go to a new home with a little extra love and a special toy that is inexpensive and easy to make.

Washable hospital pads are great for lining a crate while a dog is drying after a bath and for transporting new intakes in case of pottying accidents and are not as shreddable as disposable puppy pads.

Do you have a special talent or hobby that could help us raise much needed funds?  Sewing, quilting, stained glass, ceramics, pottery, embroidery, painting?  Let us know how you would like to help!

Learn to perform home visits or volunteer to perform vet and reference checks for new applicants.

Try fostering!  It's very rewarding and not as difficult as you might believe.  Knowing the sheltie in your care is going to a wonderful forever family that you helped choose is a heartwarming experience you will never forget.
